This could be the TR that launched a dozen feet. I've played with the idea of hiking down from Simpson, so this could be the trigger.

Simpson down to Blue Canyon Falls is the only stretch of the river I haven't seen and one of my SAR teammates said he saw the biggest brown of his life on that stretch. So many places to check out!!!

I also figured I could share a fishing trip and include locations since it's not likely that hordes of people are going to show up on the river.

A great report and pics! Thanks for taking us along vicariously. I did a similar trip back in the 1990s down the Rubicon River. The fishing for you looks like it was much better than it was for me, but the soreness and misery factor sounds very similar.

As others here already know I almost never met a trail I liked nor a cross country route I didn't like but now I'm 73 years old with a bad heart but thanks for the thought.

Thanks Eric, that make's sense. We thought it might be closed but figured we'd rather ask forgiveness than permission and intentionally didn't look into it when we started the trip.

Hmmm... Maybe I shouldn't say that on the internet? Oh well, this whole TR is a farce and I made it up, prove otherwise! :)
