The park conservancies do a lot of volunteer work, staffing visitor centers in the parks. There are links to those on the park pages. Various Conservation Corps work trails in the park system.

The most efficient way to find a crew in your specific area of interest is to call the NF office there, and ask about them. Different forests have different needs. I'm with Wilderness Corps on the Sierra NF and we are year round, with OSV/OHV, trails inside and outside of wilderness, and this year we are starting to staff the High Sierra Ranger Station on Kaiser Pass.
