Sometime today CALTRANS status for SR120 changed from allowing traffic 5 miles west of US395 at lower gate on highway to the upper gate 12 miles west at the park border. That will allow backcountry skiers like this person to drive west from Lee Vining to the several excellent slopes to skin up to like Ellery Bowl. With SR108 over Sonora Pass opening yesterday, there will be numbers of enthusiast coming in through SR108 that also has good BC access then looping around. Would like to thank those plowing the highways for their work getting these highways open that is more about allowing fishermen to drive over to the east side for the trout season opener.
