Kearsarge Pass 04/29/2018

Post by oddtiger »

I hiked up to the Kearsarge pass. The trail was still covered by snow beyond Gilbert lake, but it's packed hard snow in the morning and my trail runners said it's OK. Gilbert lake just started to thaw and I caught a few trouts for dinner on the way back.

Fishing was pretty good within the melted outlet.

I didn't see other parties up to the pass, but had a lot of marmots checking on me along the trail.

Like that marmot picture. :) Kearsarge Lakes, with that little snow, wow, it is a drought year.
