Clearly, a religious moment for him.......I felt roughly the same way, but was too chicken****to do the same thing.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Oh, and one other commonality: sure looks like Quarterdomes have been doing well this summer. Here's ours under the watchful eye of Mt. Ericsson:

Ha! We are on the verge of learning how to replace the zippers on ours... careful washes, toothbrushing, and bar soap has only gone so far. (I guess this is what happens when you camp in the desert more frequently, as we have the last two years).
I can't help but share this photo of our tent, along with those of two other couples, from when we hiked a portion of the Teton Crest Trail last summer. This photo is obviously titled, "Trois Tentes, Trois Tetons." (In retrospect should've camped further from the trail, but this site, in Teton National Forest, had been very obviously trampled by many a horse for many seasons). Remarkably resilient tents for an REI product! Looks like their tent lines have evolved pretty significantly in the last decade.
