I love Miter Basin and the fishing up there is great! Did you take the notch or follow Rock Creek up?

We didn't take the notch up but came back around the lake counterclockwise from the notch and climbed over a less steep bench. That trail paralleled the notch trail and the Rock Creek Trail somewhat. It's part cross country but also has cairns in places. Coming back we used the Rock Creek Trail because it is well worn and easier to follow (horseshoe prints and manure). I will say that going down it is a pain and there is a climb back up to Soldier.

Thanks for the TR and photos. That's a very pretty area -- I had to exit before I could get there on my trip this year. Having seen your pictures I will be sure to get there someday. Glad you had a nice trip having come from so far. Sorry about that IPA, though.
