From Chetwood Cabin to Long Creek, we were basically navigating cross-country. We would occasionally see a trail, but it usually petered out within a few hundred yards. To be fair, according to our GPS, which we checked about halfway from Chetwood, we were too low (basically walking between the trail to Long Creek and the trail to Hemlock Crossing). There are a few obvious geographic features that would get us back on track, but for the most part, it was cross country. It was not really hot at all; we were sweating on the ascent, but it wasn't what I would describe as oppressive - really quite nice. Let me know if you have any other questions!
