Best way to cancel my permit for this weekend

Post by scipio »

I have a 5-day permit for Mono Creek trail and the recesses (from the LLV trailhead) starting this Sunday.

Unfortunately I'm not able to make the trip. I haven't called in to confirm my permit yet, I reserved it almost 6 months ago.

What's the best or right way for me to cancel the permit so it gets released and someone else is able to use it? Sorry if this is covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

recreation.gov.. my reservations. open reservation and cancel
Otherwise call the office associated with your permit.

Probably won't get a refund as you're late to the cutoff date.

As far as I understand it's recreation.gov if it's before you've "picked it up" as at that point all you have is a reservation, and have to contact Inyo NF directly if they've already issued the actual permit.
