Thank you--Baker Lake trail Oct 30 2020

Post by squeakywheel »

Because our planned trail was closed, we ended up heading out on the Baker Lake trail from the Big Pine trailhead last Friday Oct 30. We felt lucky that something was open, and having never hiked this trail, it was nice to explore something new. A few miles in, nearing our planned water source, we met the only other backpackers that we saw for the entire trip. These trail angels (a former Ranger and his companion, living in Mammoth) told us that our plan was not going to work, as the spring was dry. To save us from having to turn around, they gave us a liter of water to get us through to Baker Creek. They also spent the time to give us a lot of good advice on the trail, etc.

Just wanted to post in case someone knows who they are and can thank them for us! We had a truly wonderful trip, but it wouldn't have been possible if we had not met them in exactly the right moment.
