Suggested Camping Spots - Agnew to Tuolumne - 4 Days 3 Night

I've never been on this trail before. I have permits for the Shadow Creek Trail. The plan is to hike the JMT to Tuolumne.

I thought we could make it to Garnet for the first night, but I'm not sure. That first day is always the hardest and it looks like it has the most elevation gain. So we may not make it that far.

Then second night - Marie Lakes Junction.

Third night - Ireland Creek

Then last day back to Tuolumne Meadows.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. The hike will be mid-August.

Okay. I would say our group is Level 2, Class1. We have backpacking experience in Yosemite and elsewhere but we plan on staying on the trail. Our main interest is scenery. Hope that helps.

Can you get 2 more days? It is a shame that you are missing out on staying at
Ediza and 1000 Is Lake, some of the prettiest lakes in the Sierra, and 3 nights
is kinda short. If you got an early start you could make Ediza otherwise stay
at Shadow Lake. Ediza is beautiful, and the day hikes from it to Iceberg and
Nydiver Lake are outstanding.
1000 Is lake is also beautiful and has some great opportunities for exploring
too, especially Catherine Lake, Ritter Lakes, and the whole south western side
of 1000 Is Lake is worth checking out.
Marie Lakes is pretty, but keep Davis Lakes on your list as an alternative.
Would recommend that if you cannot get more days off than stay in the Minarets.

Sadly, no more days on the trail are possible. And I think 4 days are about our limit as far as how long we want to be out.
