TR: Lookout Peak (Ebbet's pass area) - 7/17/16

Post by cefire »

Tagged Lookout Pk. yesterday. Very nice conditions this weekend with blue skies, flowers, and relatively cool & comfortable temperatures :) Flies were out along with a few mosquitoes, none biting though, still in "hover-mode". After leaving the trailhead, we didn't see a single other hiker on our trek!!

Left from Pacific Valley and took the trail south until following the river outlet Eastward up Marshall Canyon. Left the Marshall Canyon trail relatively early cross-country ascending the SSW slope of Lookout via a small drainage stream (contours visible on Nat. Geo. map). Lupine, Monkeyflower, and Paintbrush galore :)

There is now a summit register on Lookout but is quite recent. Unfortunately no pictures because the camera battery is dead :\

Good job! One more Ogul down. How many left to go?

Still only a bit over 1/2 way there. Going to be a while...which is a good thing :)
