Granite Chief 10/22/16

Post by cefire »

Quick trip up to Granite Chief yesterday. Trail conditions were somewhat soggy until about 8,000' where we hit intermittent snow. By the time we left the PCT, we were in 6-12 inches of snow that ranged from loose powder all the way to firm crust/ice depending on aspect.

Really wish I brought traction for the summit block. Had a somewhat scary fall, but regrouped and found a safe route up!
