I'm good for now.

This reminds me that I have a message from you that I haven't responded to yet. :o Scrambling to find work since I get laid off next week, and frankly quite depressed. Thank God for mountains.

Wow that is a lot of food storage capacity for a 4 night trip. I also had to chuckle about the battery charger--a real generation gap there--not criticizing just different. In addition to headlamp I carry electric powered camera and Spot but neither requires a charger for even a two week trip. my extra weight is in fishing gear.

Carry on. You two are great additions to the forum!

Mike,

I guess I left out a bit of information. We had 10 days of food there. Our permit was for 10 days on the JMT from bishop pass to Kearsarge pass. The decision to stay in Dusy basin was made on the fly on the trail after the first night when we talked about our goals for this trip.

Solar charger is for our Delorme InReach (haven't used it enough to trust its capacity) and our iPhone's which function as our cameras, video recorders, music player, extra maps/GPS, audiobooks etc.

Awesome photo, Gabe. Thanks for posting it! I believe you're the first to post a photo of the new(ish) SIERRAPHILE sticker on the trail.
