SR108 plowed to Kennedy Meadows?

Post by c9h13no3 »

SR 108
[IN THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA AREA & SIERRA NEVADA]
IS CLOSED FROM 26.4 MI EAST OF STRAWBERRY TO 5.3 MI WEST OF THE JCT OF US 395 /SONORA PASS/ (TUOLUMNE,MONO CO) - FOR THE WINTER - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
Looks like they opened the road past the 108 Sno Park to the spring closure gate past Kennedy Meadows. Didn't think that would happen. Was anyone in Kennedy Meadows this weekend?

Current conditions: Summit Ranger District (HWY 108) Trailhead is open, but not accessible by vehicle due to closed roads. Hiking to trailhead is authorized.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Yeah, this is curious. 108 is open, so are they saying the Kennedy Meadows road itself is closed?

Yep, hike to the trailhead on the closed road.
