Hey Jimr,

Is that Baxter and Acrodectes (sic?) in the middle left of center frame? And what are the farthest peaks seen to the right? I feel like I should recognize them, but don't. I have some ideas, but without my maps handy, I can't be sure. Thanks, Harlen,

Yes, you nailed it. The farthest peaks seen to the right, I believe is Rixford and an unnamed peak with Glen pass hidden behind foreground camera right.

And lower Bear Creek, full of jade green water- would you like to try one of those log crossings?

A log crossing we survived! 6/7/2003 Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne. Not elegant, but it worked.

Hey there! I've been photographing the High Sierra and surrounding areas for awhile now but haven't shared any photos here on HST, so I thought I would add to this thread. This forum is such a huge resource for all who love the Sierra Nevada. Here is a shot from Bullfrog lake that I was lucky enough to capture about a week ago.

SS quite excellent image, well done. I know the exact location with those 2 dead foxtail snags poking up. One of the ranges best sunset viewpoins looking south with East Vidette and Mt Brewer. After thunderstorm weather afternoons with rains decreasing by sunset and areas west of Sierra Nevada over the Central Valley clear, the sun may get underneath cloud decks providing unusual light. This is an off sun axis direction that often causes a warm orange light that you have nicely captured with believable saturation and hue fidelity here. Also notice Bullfrog is moderately calm that often occurs during thunderstorm weather unlike common sunny afternoons when up canyon breezes tend to be strong. I like the rains bands higher up. What is your image size?

Conditions are similar to this image with similar color I shot from my camp spot at L Lake last summer but off axis looking north, a 15400 pixel 5 frame stitch.
