Referring to threads

Instead of emailing or messaging the Admins or Mods with technical support questions or comments about the site, we prefer you check here to see if someone else has had the same difficulty or has made the same suggestion. What you're after might have already been posted and addressed here or within the FAQ. If not, please post a detailed description of the problem/suggestion and someone from the HST team will address your needs shortly. If you can't login/post and are unable to reset your password on your own, you may contact us directly.

Referring to threads

Post by BSquared »

This is probably a FAQ, but I couldn't find it. I see people referring to other threads (and even URLs that are distant from HST) with convenient names, like "here," instead of long complicated URLs, so there's obviously something more to the URL tag than just pasting in a URL. How do I do this?

Ah! OK, so it's really a lot like the HTML code. I just type Visit phpBB!, and I get a nice tag that directs to the proper URL, right? I've actually had way too much scotch tonight to make it work right, but I think when I'm sober I'll have it ;) Ardbeg Uigeadail, mmm...hmmm...!

Is the web_site tag the new url tag? And does it work the same way as in:

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.phpbb.com/]Visit phpBB![/url]
but now with web_site instead?

No. The url tag still works, just no button for it. In an attempt to remove another button (img, which was by request), I accidently deleted the url button. I'll look into correcting the problem when I have a computer to work from again. HD on my home PC, and motherboard on my work PC both died in the same week...
