I bought one of these gizmos 25 years ago and have used it to bake birthday cakes on pack trips, using mixes and plastic gallon bags. In Idaho I would bake shortcake after an afternoon of picking huckleberries for the best huckleberry shortcake imaginable. I haven't used this gizmo in years, though, and I imagine all the silicone implements may be easier to use. But I did find this link:

I probably bought mine about 25 years ago, maybe even earlier. It sits in the bottom of my old 1 gallon aluminum pot underneath my old MSR Whisperlite stove. All 3 last used in 2005.

Actually quite nice if you are out with group of 4 or more and doing group cooking. Breads, eggs, and fish all do well this way.

And bringing me to think about it and how my backpacking "style" has changed as I've aged, gone lighter, and find myself going solo more often than being with a group.
