I'm kinda with oldranger on this one. We tend to carry 151 because of the bang for the pound. Our mix is:

1 poly bottle
2-4 oz 151
1/2 a "tub" of crystal light (fruit punch or lemon, or orange)
fill with water
Shake

Put on the headlamps, take out the cards, and play Pai Gow until we get tired. \:D/

Instant hot cocoa. Nothing says comfort on a cold dreary day better than hot cocoa heading down the gullet. Add a heaping teaspoon of instant coffee for some added kick.

Well, it's not strictly food or drink, but just as important at the end of a day on the trail, particularly if I have my fly rod out, would be a Montecristo Flor Fina robusto.

151 & Crystal lite is my favorite too.

BTW, I think that we met on the trail to Eagle Peak last year (June 21st I think). You where leading a group and asked me about the weather at the top.

a) smoked oysters. I always have one along for that day when I just need a bit more than peanuts and dried fruit for lunch. Plus my dog loves the oil for a special treat.
b) that can of Boddingtons that I stashed away for just the right moment

a and b together, in that perfect lunch spot, 4-5 days in with the rest of the world left behind = perfection. Can't wait to be there in about 8 days from today...

Are you related to Boddingtons, or do you just like it? :drinkers:

Russ

BTW, I always carry smoked oysters and assorted Sardines as well. So great on crackers in the mid-day..
