9/2 Below (just west of) Pine Creek Pass - 3+ (my friend would argue 4)
9/3 Royce Lakes - 1 (breezy, was there in afternoon)

Well, My experience same time as TFTF was a bit different - Though I did apply deet a couple times a day, my experience was more in the (2) range for all:

Tomahawk/Mesa/Puppet/French Canyon/Elba/Pine Creek Pass.

That said - TFTF - You wouldn't happen to be one of the ladies we talked to on Saturday morning before ascending puppet pass would you?

September 1-4

Baxter Pass trail east side - 0
Baxter Lakes - 2-4 - Wind cleared them out good.
Sixty Lakes 1-4 depending on which lake and time of day.

Some areas almost none, some large swarms with 10+ landing on you at once trying to extract the blood toll for being there. Wind helped. Headnet required. No cowboy camping. DEET would have been nice.

Basin below the Lyell Glacier's terminal moraine: 1 during the day, did not experience at dawn/dusk.

September 1-3

Dog Lake / Young Lakes trail: 2
Upper Young Lake: 3-4. I used my headnet over a broad-brimmed hat and tucked it into a rain shell. Wind helped when it was blowing, but it was intermittent at best.

Elevations 7000 feet (Sugarloaf Valley and Roaring River) to 11,400 feet (Elizabeth Pass & Horn Col).
Still air or light breezes. Almost always no mosquitos while walking (level 1). When stopped in damp areas, a few would try to land on you. Evening camps up to level 2 - at most half a dozen trying to land on you. Kept away with a little DEET. Always went away at dark, even though it wasn't very cold.

Hi Sambieni - I went up and back down Deadman Canyon on Sept 1-3, right after you. I thought mosquitoes were closer to level 1 at Roaring River but level 2 in Deadman Canyon.

Between 9k and 11k, mostly a 1, but still more than expected for September. Evenings near wet areas were closer to a 2. Long sleeves and pants recommended, and I used a few dabs of deet.

Not sure if anyone is still looking at these since it's so late in the season, but just got back from 3 nights in Big Pine North Fork area. Trailhead to 7th lake, glacier trail, cloudripper climb, all zero.
