Snow Graph Q

Hi,

I think the CDEC changed some of their snow graph sites late in the summer this year. I’m not able to find the graph I’ve been using to reference the snow all through the winter and spring for the last couple of years.

This https://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/pro ... OT_SWC.pdf is the closest thing I’ve found so far to what I used to look at. Is this link the best place to get an overview of snow accumulation in the Sierra and compare it to previous years?

Also, I thought the snow surveys started on 12/1. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for any responses. I know this has probably been discussed before but I haven’t had luck with the search feature or google...

I think the on the ground er snow surveys start Feb. 1. you can still access individual remote stations and there is a single page of many of the stations on the CDEC site/

Maybe you were looking for this page, http://cdec.water.ca.gov/snowapp/swcchart.action ? They shortened the URL a bit.

Yes! Thanks, Dave! That is exactly what I was looking for.

Any thoughts on when data starts showing up on these graphs? I thought the plot started at the beginning of December.

Scanning the announcements at https://cdec.water.ca.gov/snow/ shows the first snow survey took place about the 1st of the new year the past few years. IDK if this year will differ.
