This is Matt's sister. I want to thank you all again for the time and effort you put in to search. It's people like you who restore ones faith in humanity when so many bad things are going on in the world. Not to mention you all remind me of my brother and his passions in life. When I visited Mammoth and hiked up to Ediza it was easy to see how the beauty and peace capture you.

Your search came at a great time. My dad returned home from Mammoth at the beginning of the month, having hiked and searched to the utmost of his ability all summer. I'm so glad to have him back, though admittedly having him out there was a comfort in that we knew someone was looking. Knowing that other people care and are looking and keeping their eyes out means more than I can express. Thanks again - Tiffany

Hi Tiffany,

Appreciate you taking the time to log on, and especially thank you for your kind
words for all the searchers involved!

Everyone in our group understood your loss, and the pain you, and your family is
going thru at some level.

We are all mountain people here, and as VC wrote, Matt is one of us, a mountain
brother whose family yearns for closure.

We all understand that magnetic draw of the mountains on Matthew's soul, it's a draw
that keeps you going back as long as you can physically go, and then one continues to
visit those specially place thru the memories, and wonderful forums like HST.

Will continue to go back to look Tiffany, and am sure that some of my fellow
mountain people from HST will join me in my effort to bring you and the family
some peace and closure.

The spirit of community comes through all of these posts. I so admire each of you for searching. This thread captures very well the relationship between the lonely beauty of the wilderness and the sense of connection it inspires in all who experience it.

Rather than string my TR over several posts, I added to the original. I have most of the shots initially processed and hope to get this and the rest of the TR done before the end of the weekend. There are some nice shots so far.

It may be a bit awkward to have to jump back and re-read a prior post, but I think it's better than having to jump around to put the darn thing together.
