Inyo County Sheriff's Dept:
Last Thursday and Friday, Inyo SAR trained with CHP Inland Division Air Operations, and then promptly jumped into a busy weekend.

On Saturday May 14th at about 10:45am Sheriff’s Dispatch was notified of a 40-year old male hiker, with potential altitude sickness needing assistance near Lone Pine Lake. The patient was evacuated with the help of Inyo SAR members and CHP H82 and transported to Southern Inyo Hospital for treatment. CAL-Fire also assisted with this mission.

Shortly after 7:00pm on Saturday evening Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of a male hiker separated from his friends in the Buttermilk area west of Bishop. Inyo County Search and Rescue was able to reunite the hiker with his party. The male hiker was not injured.

On Sunday, at 8:20am Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call about a fatality involving a 25-year old male base jumper near Lower Boy Scout Lake. One SAR team member aided the CHP crew in recovering the body.
