Inyo SAR Incident 7/14

Post by maverick »

Inyo Co Sheriff's Dept:
On July 14, 2018 H-82 was requested by Inyo County Sheriff's Office to assist with a rescue of an injured hiker near Pine Lake, west of Bishop. The female hiker had injured her knee at high elevation and self-rescued to 10,000 feet before she was unable to descend any further. Inyo County Search and Rescue team members hiked to the party and assessed her injuries. Based on her injuries and location it was decided a hoist would be the best option. H-82 responded, and with the assistance of the SAR members, hoisted the party from the location and transported her to awaiting medical services at Bishop Airport.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
