Fresno County SAR Incident 7/23

On Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s helicopter, EAGLE One, and the California Highway Patrol helicopter, H40, responded to the area of Laurel Lake. This is located in the sierra mountains, near Mammoth Lakes, at approximately 10,000 feet. Deputies and officers were told there was an injured hiker in the area who had his two dogs with him and he was unable to walk. The H40 crew treated the man for minor injuries to his ankle and transported him to Edison Lake where he received more assistance. Due to there not being enough room for the dogs inside H40, the Eagle One crew flew the two dogs to the same location to be with their owner. On a side note, there were thunderstorms in the area at the time of the rescue.
