We're heading out for five days in February; possibly leaving from Mammoth to Yosemite and wanted to know if any locals would be willing to have us park on their property for a small fee. There is long term parking at Mammoth airport but would like to be closer to town. Thank you! JP

We have always parked in the backpackers parking in Yosemite Valley and then then road the YARTS bus back to Mammoth to start our hike. That way our car is waiting for us when we get there. Have also done it the other direction by parking roadside at the ski resort and busing to Tuolumne Meadows or Yosemite Valley. Parking is free either way and we have had no problems. You can also plan taking advantage of the backpackers camps the night before and after your treks.

Here in Mammoth, in February, parking is a bit of a conundrum...due to winter city snow removal restrictions...no parking on roads Nov. - May. To add, due to snow storage, most homes here have limited parking anyway (not enough) and, right after any good storm, all cars must be moved soon after when the snow plows come through to clean things up.
Anyway, if still wanting a place to park legally in town...rare... there is some street parking south of the new Starbucks (old McDonalds) near the hospital.
Strongly suggest though, the big mountain ski lot (near the big Mammoth statue)/ across from the Yodler with free frequent shuttles available down to town.
BTW, in February, how are you getting down to Agnew or back to Mammoth, as the roads/ Tioga Pass are closed?
