Forum Gathering in Mammoth??

Post by Snow Nymph »

If anyone is interested in meeting in Mammoth, pick a date.

I'm available in Feb except the weekend of the 11-12th.

The weekend of Feb 18 includes President’s Day and some extra crowds.
I’d vote for the weekend of Feb 25. For those wanting to save a few bucks on lodging, Davison Street Guest House is great. About $40 for the dorm, they also privet rooms that sleep 3 to 4 people.

Great idea! The later part of Feb or March would work best for me.

Free HST stickers for anyone who shows up. I'll take names and addresses and mail them out after the trip.

Mammoth is a little far of a drive from the bay area for the amount of time I can get away :(

However, if anyone is interested in a west side gathering...maybe a winter camping trip, give me a holler.

Don't know...I'm pretty open. But I have been dying to head up to Pear Lake and Tableland area in SEKI. Glacier Point in Yos. would be cool too...

Probably would depend on the experience level of who would be going. Glacier Pt. Easy on the road, than 4 mile grunt to the Ostrander Hut. Pear and on up to Tablelands. Advanced with Avy training/trancievers/shovel etc. required.

I might be able to do a winter trip. I took the basic Avy training last year, and have the required gear.

Looks like thew weekend of the 25th might work for a few people! Lets plan on that weekend in Mammoth!
