sketchbook 2019

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Tuolumne store...a strange season this last one. Fires, smoke, and park closures, but we didn't close down in the meadows. Long post to follow soon.
Anyway, did a lot of art - watercolor - pen-n-ink this year...even sold some too. FYI, each day I posted a "sketch of the day" on the bulletin board outside of the store...some turned out pretty nice too...enjoy.

I like the crab, too.

I've been doing a few paintings as well:

Mark, I was just thinking the other day that you have been awful quiet the last couple of months. Glad to see you posting again. Your water colors are really looking great. I wish that I had some kind of artistic talent.

Gary, no wifi/internet up in Tuolumne Meadows. I was "stuck" working up there all summer in the store (as lead cashier) the past 4 months.

Balz...nice - getting better quickly. However, still painting from photographs?
Plein air is better.

Ok. I like the mosquito and the fly. Thinking the mosquito and fly should be the front page of the Mosquito report next season.
A great job all around, Mark!
