Can't go hiking? You can still smell like it.

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Hmm. Since my trips don't involve firearms, I'll have to pass on the gunpowder..

Do they have barbecue?
Check our our website: http://www.backpackthesierra.com/
Or just read a good mystery novel set in the Sierra; https://www.amazon.com/Danger-Falling-R ... 0984884963

And when you are done smelling like a campfire, you can use Gwyneth Paltrow's soap.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.

And it won't work for me till they add wet dog. That'd do it fer me:
Sweat, Smoke, Wet Dog and Whiskey.

Sweat, smoke, wet dog and whiskey. Well Harlen, you can have all that at home without spending a dime, in fact you would save $$ on your water bill. Do not take a bath for a month or wash clothes (this gives you the sweat factor without even moving), have Bearzy roll in puddles every day, (do not give Bearzy a bath either), BBQ regularly, and all the while, chug that whiskey. However, your water savings could be lost on all that whiskey- better to just rub it all over you. In fact a little whisky BBQ rub on the meat would be perfect too.

WD, You should start a new career as a what's it called?-- "Life Planner," "Life Coach," or some such title. I like all of your ideas!
