Oregon wolf OR-54 found dead in California.
Gray wolf OR-54 was found dead in Shasta County, California, on February 5, 2020. She was approximately 3-4 years old.
OR-54 was born into Oregon’s Rogue Pack (the daughter of famous OR-7) and first entered California in 2018. Her adventurous spirit was clear, as evidenced by her journey into California and the thousands of miles she traversed (over 7,600) after leaving her natal pack.
According to California Wildlife officials, the wolf’s death is under a criminal investigation.
