Markskor in Hospital

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Hey Markskor,

So sorry to just learn of your situation. You gotta get better and out of there man, we are all counting on it. For starters, you're the anchor of this place we call HST. Secondly, none of us want to see a sketchbook full of hospital bedpans and IV tubes.

Seriously though, best wishes for your speedy recovery and to see you back where you belong.

Hey Oldranger, I've been gone awhile, can we get an update on Markskor's condition? Thanks.

Talked to Mark this AM. He sounded great and said he felt good after first night that nurses didn't wake him up every couple hours for an infusion. Said he got 5 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep. he is finished with first round of chemo. Will be in hospital for another 10 days then will return to Mammoth for 3 or 4 weeks before returning to SD for another round of chemo. After that he says he's going to head up to Bend to go kokanee fishing with me. Didn't even wait for an invitation! Right now he is planning on returning to his summer job at TM. He says his doc is very optimistic about his recovery.

I will try and do an update about once a week. If I am remiss just do like Harlen did and remind me!

Bryan just sent me a picture. Mark is in an ultra clean room and bored out of his mind.

Fishing later sounds like a good idea, Mike!

Just spoke with Mark. Sounded great. Same old Mark. Spirited, no filter lol. Said to tell you all that all is good. Said he logged in and knocked off a couple of spammers earlier. :p His doctors are very positive about his prognosis and he's looking forward to getting up to work again this summer.
