I guess I'll need to listen to it to decide if I should congratulate you. There is the added bonus of hearing your voice every time I read one of your posts.

An entertaining listen and I certainly agree with you on your favorite Sierra dry fly and fish to catch. Let us know how your Yellowstone trip goes (if it happens). Those waters are so completely different from your favorite Sierra stream but just as addicting non the less! I never take wine on my Sierra trips but chilling your bottle in a Sierra stream or lake has got to be better than the best cellar in the world.

Yep--the only drawback is the weight. I wish they could make wine that weighed less!

Paul, I really enjoyed the whole podcast. The part that stands out for Lizzie and me is when you speak about the pure joy of fishing, and not getting caught up in all the little details. As you imply, that emphasis can be applied to many pursuits. Thanks for sharing this with us. I think I can help you regarding your "wine-weight." You said:
We liked the Manzanita Lake story, but why would you throw back an 18" fish?! If you'd eat your fish you could carry less food, and the the wine in the bear can would breathe even better. Glad to help, Ian.
Just pour it out of the bottle and into the bear can! I mentioned this before re. spirits, and it works even better with fine wine. The bear can allows it to "breathe" a bit, and the sloshing about aerates it.Yep--the only drawback is the weight. I wish they could make wine that weighed less!

Re: Got interviewed for a podcast...
thanks Harlan!
Manzanita Lake is catch and release--that's why you can catch such nice fish there,
And I do have a plastic screw cap wine bottle that I take sometimes. That does cut down on the weight.
