The Annual PSA -- campfire permit

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

The Annual PSA -- campfire permit

Post by dave54 »

It can't get any easier to obtain a permit. Watch a cheesy 3 minute video and take an on-line quiz.
You have no excuse. Print several and just stash in your cars. Save to your phone or cloud storage. Then you are legal for the year.

Offline copies on both my phones, who owns a printer these days?

Apparently there’s been one brush fire already in Mono county from numbskulls dispersed camping.

I do. Divorce and home sell transactions are still somewhat scan/print based, especially when out of the area.
Two phones? why? I'm guessing two ears but... :D

My experience was you don't need to watch the video. Just let it play on mute then answer the very simple questions.

One for the b!tches & one for the dough.

Usually I leave the work phone in the at home, but it gets reception in places my personal cell won't. So sometimes I'll bring the work ball & chain.

The permit paper copy is burnable for starting a campfire, or used in other ways, but dig the hole first to spec. :p

There is another use for inkjet printers:
