A little bragging...sorry

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

A little bragging...sorry

Post by balzaccom »

Some of you may know that I'm involved in the world of wine. Recently, I taped a series of lectures for Audible, and they are now released. Here's a link:

If nothing else, I promise they will be mildly entertaining...and that's not often the case with wine lectures!

These came out of the course I created for the Great Courses: https://www.thegreatcoursesplus.com/the ... -best-wine

Hmmm. No problems with A1C. But moderation in all things. I'm the one guy at the wine tasting who spits every wine...

Not bragging at all-- entertaining! You obviously know a lot about wine Paul... did you know that the wine can react with the cork, and go bad?

If you like that, and would like to further your education, see also: "Fawlty Towers: Bordeaux and claret." Cheers, Ian.

A classic. I was once part of a big campaign on behalf of the cork industry for quite a few years to educate wineries on how to use their corks so this would be less of a problem...

I have a whole lecture on wine on the screen---both TV and movies. Lots of good stuff there.
