And looking at the continental U.S. From about Arkansas east & south. I see that these are satellite "hotspot" detections, but what are they? Starbucks coffee roasters?

Mort, I like your tongue-in-cheek suggestion, but this looks like the kind of smoke forecasting some folk on HST have been seeking. Since I got caught in smoky skies on Aug.7th and spent a week in moderate-to-bad particulates, this should be a boon for some folk who remain determined to backpack in fire season. Yeah, I noticed this tool last year, but never really found it to be that great. Should probably revisit that assumption.
