Missing Person Alert Yosemite 8/11 (Resolved)

Use this forum to stay informed on missing persons alerts, active SAR's and unfortunate hiker accidents we can all hopefully learn from. Any information you may have on a missing person, including first hand weather related information or any other insight (however little) may prove to be critical information to Law Enforcement / SAR in locating the person in question.

Missing Person Alert Yosemite 8/11 (Resolved)

Information is currently being collected on Scott, will update as it is received.

Missing: Scott Tenczar, a San Jose native, and an Afghanistan veteran.

Route: Northern Yosemite Loop starting from Twin Lakes 7/25, due out 8/1.

If you were you in the area of Robinson Creek, Crown Lake, Matterhorn Canyon, Smedberg Lake, Seavey Pass, or Peeler Lake 7/25–8/5, contact Yosemite at 888-653-0009.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Investigators are looking for hikers that may have seen him to call or email in any sightings to help them narrow down a place last seen and descriptions of his gear and clothing. They are particularly interested in sightings of Tenczar in off trail and cross country locations.

Has visited the Robinson Creek area numerous times before and knew the area well.
