Great Gray Owl

Post by Vishal »

Hi,

I am a birder/photographer who loves to photograph owls. Was wondering if anyone on the forum has seen great grays owls in the Sierra and has any tips on where to find them? Thanks

I've heard, but not experienced, that they can be found around the Crane Flat area in Yosemite.

Professional Sierra Landscape Photographer

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org

Last time the owls were seen there had to be three years ago. Of course, I don't know how often they are not actually seen.
