Missing HST Member near Lamarck Col Trail in Bishop, CA

Post by bmac96 »

I posted this on the SAR thread but figured I would crosspost anyway as it can't hurt...

Alan Stringer, 40 years old and 6'4", left out of North Lake Trailhead early morning Sunday November 3 and was supposed to return the evening of Sunday November 3 to hike and mountaineer around Mt Darwin. We have had a full search and rescue team out since yesterday morning and still today. I've attached a picture of him below. If you recognize him or have any information please reach out to me 972-741-4632.

He was active on this forum with a usertag of "stringbop"

EDIT:
He may have been near the Lamarck Col Trail.

In the pictures below, I would expect him to be wearing that blue down jacket, and he may have had that particular pack and tent with him as well.

Will leave this thread open since this involves a HST member, the one in the "Missing Persons Alerts/SAR Updates" has been locked.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Is the picture of him from the trip in which he went missing? i.e., are those the clothes he's expected to be wearing?

After talking to bmac, Darwin was not his goal, not enough climbing experience, and it doesn't make sense with Alan parking at North Lake, possibly Mt.Lamarck, Lamarck Col, or Mt. Emerson, which has a class 3 route starting from Piute Pass.
Photo's of Alan's gear will be posted shortly.
