Are there any? Seems they don't last or are hard to get a hold of, Any recommendations?

Bob did a great job for us last summer. Was waiting for us at the appointed time. And got us to the starting point early. Not cheap because there was only two of us and his costs don't vary.
Here is his web page:

Who can't do everything he used to and what he can do takes a hell of a lot longer!

+1 - Bob is great. Highly recommended. He drove us from Whitney Portal to Tuolumne Meadows last summer.

not sure if he is - call him at 760-876-1915. That's the number he used last summer. He only operates in the summer season to save paying insurance during the slow months, and most of his business is word of mouth, so the single page web site may have lapsed.

I just talked to Bob, he's still in business, but is having problems w/ his internet site. His temporary site is at

http://mountwhitneyshuttle.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

good to hear that he will be available again. I keep his number in my cell - there's nothing like a phone call to get a ride from a trailhead where you didn't plan to exit the mountains.

Just spoke with Bob and made reservations for a Whiney Portal to Cottonwood Lakes TH shuttle in August. He is working on shifting his web page to a different server (should be up in a few days)and adding additional info on public transportation for those who prefer not to drive. He also said August has the most bookings so far FYI.
