It's almost winter!

Ummm ... according to one of my favorite webcams, there's snow in the high sierra ... and it won't be long before it's even lower. I'm surprised nobody has posted anything here yet about their upcoming winter activities. What's in the works? :)

I'm (maybe for the first time ever) looking forward to snow so I can try my new snowshoes ... hoping to enjoy some treks thru the beautiful backcountry with freshly fallen snow glistening in the sunshine :).

Wow that is really great with the colors & the snow together!!! What's the elevation there?

That shot is at Rock Creek Lake, ~9,600'. Most of that snow is gone now (as are the leaves). Still quite a bit of snow up high though.

Nice pic. set's the tone for the thread. now, what are you planning for the winter season, per the thread's basenote?

personally, i might take my skis up near loon lk and go squirrel hunting.. but that's just me.
