Snow Nymph's photos from Mammoth Mtn (2005-2006)

November 12-13, 2005 Opening weekend

Running over rocks with my board is like nails on a black board. The top was good, but a lot of traversing for me to get in and out on a board. Next time (2 wks) I'm using my really old rock board. The Witchcraft can be fixed.

A lot of partying on this trip . . . Champagne toast at 11am (I missed it), free hotdogs at 2pm (haven't had hotdogs in years, and it was yummy!), free beer, wine and h'orsdevours from 4-6 (good), then a BBQ at Snowman's place (great party!)

No snow in the forecast, so I'm hiking next weekend.

Better to wait for more snow. Look at Joey-Bag-O-Donuts skis. A lot of skis/boards I saw looked like that. Mine is going in the shop, and I'll use my really old board until coverage is better. And let me know when you're in Mammoth so we can hook up!

After opening weekend, we waited a month for more coverage on the mountain and it was worth it! No lines, and decent riding. A great weekend to be at Mammoth Mountain!

Great riding on windblown on Saturday, broke the camera LCD screen when I fell, dinner with Doug395, party at Asandygal and Skiers, then rode powder all day Sunday! Great weekend! (except the camera)

I like those frosty Sunday shots. After 3 days of skiing and digging my car out I was too pooped for powder on Sunday. How was your drive home, was there still snow on the road in Big Pine.

Hey!

That home cooked meal looks just as good as anything from Whoa Nelli!

Blows me away the difference in snow pack from here just over the top to Mammoth! :crybaby:

Poured all night here, started snowing ~6am. Snowing on the slopes, lifts closed. We waited over an hour for chair 16 to open, and left when they told us it wasn't going to happen. Shortly after (noon), chair 8 closed. A tree by chair 8 was blown over, so if the wind can blow a tree over . . . .

Photos from Mono Lake on Sat, Dec 24th.

The road to South Crater was closed, so I went to Mono Lake for photos. Used two cameras that were 'not working right', so its all 'point & shoot' and see what comes out.
