Heading to Gilmore and Susie lake tomorrow, 7/13/17 from Fallen Leaf Lake. Any idea how conditions are that direction?

Hi Hikerjim,

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

At this time in 2011, the trail was mostly free of snow below those lakes, but the ground was 90% covered with snow around Susie. There were two open flat areas near the lake that were fine camping areas. This season had a bit more snow than 2011, but we also had that extreme week of heat which accelerated the melt-off. Expect to do wet foot stream crossings, however they should be lower risk by now.
