Tioga Pass and Tuolumne Meadows

Getting my TM ready -
Rumor has it that Tioga Pass will open up this coming Thursday.
Store still scheduled to open May 25th...or maybe sooner.

Yosemite Web site says Glacier Point to open this weekend. Did it?

Is there a relationship between when Tioga Pass/Glacier Point open and when Devils Postpile opens? I would presume that in a dry year all three open earlier, in a wet year, later.

If it's May 4, that would be earlier than the average from 1996 to 2015 which is May 14 according to NPS.

No there is no relationship between Yosemite road openings and Devil's Postpile. Devil's Postpile has an additional opening constraint, the ski resort. The bottom of the resort runs across the road at the main lodge, and they like to stay open until at least Memorial Day. Then add another couple weeks for forest, road and utility crews to make sure everything is good.
OTOH, Devil's Postpile is always open if you are willing to self-propel.

Great. Now I can drive up to high elevations for some fun backcountry skiing since I recently bought new ski binding adapters and re-glued my climbing skins. Will need to start keeping my eye on Eastern Sierra weather forecasts to hit a good corn snow cycle.

Does that mean only to the gate until the rest is plowed by the park service?

The Tioga Road is plowed, although side roads are still snowy. Crews are working to remove hazard trees, rocks, and other debris along the road corridor. There is no estimated opening date for the Tioga Road.
Updates, if any, about allowing bicycles on Tioga Road prior to opening, will appear here.
