Markleeville Peak

The road to Blue Lakes just opened up to the lower lake allowing me to spend Friday night in “Border Ruffian Flat”.
There is a trail named after a nearby peak. You can use this trail to approach Markleeville Peak from the south.
This is a picture of the trailhead.
This sign is right next to the trailhead.
This is the turnout you can use to park.
The trail is named after this peak.
Here is a map roughly showing my route to the summit.
This is looking back on my route from about the 8000 foot level.
The summit is just on the other side of that rock outcropping.
The register is hidden under this rock.
Pete Yamagata, what a guy!
Brian Voyles strikes again!
To be continued…
