Re: show me your dog!
Nope, Smokey is a purebred Belgian Shepherd, aka a "Malinois." Bearzy came out of a Sonora dog shelter, and its anyone's best guess as to his breed. To me he most resembles an Australian cattledog, or "Healer," but obviously mixed with a few other breeds. Three times we've been asked if he was a Korean "Jindo." If you look them up, you'll see a real resemblance. They are both great dogs, and great friends.
In another of your posts, I queried you regarding your border collie Lupe, and how she feels about being left out of some of your trips. My former dog knew exactly what my full backpack meant, and would curl up against it-- making the point that he was to be a part of the next trip. He almost always was, except the times I traveled abroad, and those departures were sad days.

Daisy asked:

The big photo of the Jindo at the top is about as close a lookalike to Bearzy as you can get.
I replied:Are they the same breed but different fur coloring?
I was just looking at "Jindos" online, and found the photos attached below:To me he [Bearzy] most resembles an Australian 'shepherd' [though I had meant to say 'cattledog,'] but obviously mixed with a few other breeds. Three times we've been asked if he was a Korean "Jindo."

A happy dog is the one that stays by its master's side.

Did you see the movie "Red Dog"? Perhaps a resemblance. Anyway, good movie for dog lovers. But it does have some sad parts; a person I know who has tons of dogs will not watch it.

The red one is a short 2 foot leash that wraps around her collar and velcros onto itself. It's so I can have her off leash but have her on a short leash quickly if/when needed.
