So it looks like my fishing partner is out for our overnight backpacking trip for Goldens.

Anyone want to go with?
Have permits already. Not even sure if it's passable with creek crossings? But I'll be up there to try anyway even if I have to turn around. Lakes might not have a bunch of fishable water?

I am heading to Lone Pine area to acclimate on Sunday the 2nd.
Stay at portal campground. Practice hammock.
Explore.
Wanted to stay at trailhead on Monday night?
Reading gate is still locked before parking area.

Me: level 2 hiker, M45, I've done this same trip before.
Was awesome! Caught some really nice fish.

Want to make sure you're aware cottonwood lakes 1-4 are closed to fishing until September. Other water up there is open, but this was a regulations change just a clue years ago.

Thanks. Saw that. Lake 5 fishes the best anyhow.

Was wondering where the barbless regs went?

Are you aware if the gate is open to the trailhead campground yet?
TIA
