Current Kearsarge Pass conditions

Post by Jmward »

Hello:

I'm currently planning a 2 night backpacking trip starting at Onion Valley and heading up and over Kearsarge Pass to make a camp at some of the lakes about 1,000 feet below the pass.

Has anyone been up that route?

What are the snow conditions like?

Are crampons necessary?

If I've never done this trip before....is it just WAY too early in the season for this to be a good idea???

Thank you!

Jessica

Hi Jmward,

Welcome to HST!
Here was an earlier up date of Kearsarge Pass: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9076&p=68521&hilit ... ass#p68521" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
