TR-Dayhiking with a Tennessean.
Got to show more of Yosemite to my friend from Nashville. It's an absolute blast hiking with him. His language keeps the trail conversation fascinating. You hear words like, y'all, good lord willin, cuz, t'other, god's country, and fixin. Of course, because of the heavy snow, we crossed a lot of cricks this year. I took him on familiar hikes, Mt. Watkins, and Spillway Lake, but also up Mariuolumne Dome near Cathedral Peak/Lake. One of the things I've never done in Yosemite is check out the mouth of Lower Cathedral Lake. It's pretty steep, but you can get down a couple of levels, and sit next to the many stair stepped falls. The fun part of this winter will be thinking about where to take him next summer. And where we can get a good mess o vittles.

Just learned about Pywiack Cascade even though I've been to the area before. Thanks
And we Southerners don't all talk like that... course I will drop a y'all on occasion as the English language doesn't provide a plural "you".

Nice photos. The outlet of Lower Cathedral has been one of my favorite short hikes for a very long time, although it is trickier to do when a lot of water is coming down the falls (but also more scenic). The view from that hike is exceptional, even for the most jaded High Sierra hiker.
Since my fishing (etc.) website is still down, you can be distracted by geology stuff at: http://www.fresnostate.edu/csm/ees/facu ... ayshi.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've always loved the Southern vernacular. Especially Cajun.
