Re: bot storms
At this point, it appears to be pretty normal. Usually only lasts for a few days.

Re: bot storms
Might as well not show the stats anymore. They seem to be pushing 500-1000 every day.

Re: bot storms
I was able to track down and block a Chinese search engine crawler that's been part of, if not all of the problem.

Re: bot storms
I think we have some scam stuff today. Could you check it out? If I go to the post and notify this way, is there any chance my computer will get infected?

Re: bot storms
Hey WD. Sorry, I'm not following. What are you observing that leads you to believe there is scam stuff going on? A particular post? PM?
Unless someone posts/PMs you a bad link that you click on, there's no way this site will infect your computer.

Re: bot storms
The two posts have now been removed. Someone else must have done this. Thanks for the reassurance that flagging these posts will not infect my computer. It was in the backpacking sub-forum.

Oh, I see what you were asking now. No, using the "report this post" button is not only safe, its use is appreciated by the Admin/Mod team. When you do report a post, we get notified with a direct link to the post and it gets taken care of much more quickly.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
