First Impression on the Route to Davis Lakes

First Glimpse of Davis Lakes

I feel or see the alpine lakes so near
Yet, so far across the gap
Loose and jagged rocks strike fear
This looks nothing like the map.

Should I risk the scramble now?
Will I have the time I need?
will the ragged rocks allow
or will they block, slow down, impede?

Am I crazy says my mind
As I stumble down the cliff
Will this get me in a bind?
My cautious side keeps saying what if, what if?

How I felt after my first glimpse of Davis Lakes.
