In the middle of the season that probably wouldn't be an issue. Right now? I was over Kaiser Pass on Saturday - there's hardly anyone out and about this time of year. Definitely a dropoff in traffic after Labor Day.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

In the next two weeks. I may end up doing something doesn't require a shuttle.

Yeah, like AT said, this time of the year that place is much less used and hitching a ride would be extremely difficult. Good luck if you do try.In the next two weeks. I may end up doing something doesn't require a shuttle.

I camped up there in mid October, there were still a fair number of vehicles cruising around.

Did the original poster end up getting a hitch? I am thinking of doing something similar this summer. Most likely 1st or 2nd week of September. Leave my car at Florence lake and hitch from Bear Creek Diversion dam / mono hotsprings.
thanks in advance.

The crowds drop off after Labor Day, and Bear Diversion is 2.3 miles of dirt road. You'll have much better luck on the pavement. Still possible, but you can't count on it. Especially if you're in a hurry.

Internet pictures. I have my own pictures, but they're only at the lake itself.

I should have added, that I planned on walking that road. Driven it too, but that's another story. I may look at other plans. The walk from the dam cutoff to Florence would suck.
